We are looking forward to sending you supporting documents about this series of seminars.
The principle of reflection takes us onto an extremely effective and permanently applicable way to self-knowledge, autognosis. It leads through a lot of different areas just as a superior principle does.
The most amazing results come from persons we are in steady contact with. Similarly as a mirror on the wall optically reflects our outer state, the selective perception of our opposite person brings out our inner state.
This opposite person we percept by certain characteristics. We describe this person based on the unconciously posed question »What is she like? What is he like?«. Because of our hidden self-centering we pick out of the other's numerous characteristics, what particularly irritates us or particularly impresses us.
We think that we have percepted the essentials in the other person by a quick glance through an alleged window. But in fact this window to the other person reflects our own unliked (but not realized) characteristic or else a capability which we could very well develop.
The mirror thereby will always render our temporary reality, not a fundamental one. By this, we get a permanent control of our human development in upwards and downwards direction. It may, just like in a mirror maze, render distorted or exaggerated pictures but may the »beam« be in the other person's eye this time, and only the »thorn« in our own eye, this should though be seen as an occasion to get rid of this beam.
To take up to this method possibly will demand a radical change of our views but still Mirror-Talks has significant advantages compared to usual ways of thinking:
